Recently i discovered the letter 'D' to be the most negative letter by far. Looking for words to describe to my friend how crappy my day was i choose to use damp, dreary, and dull. Wow, they all start with 'D'! Deciding to prove that it wasn't just due to coincidence i brainstormed for letters that start with 'D' and here are some of my results:
dark, dirt, don't, dope!, drowsy, distant, dribble, daft, donkey, death, dilly dally, dot, darn, damn, diaper, dwell, despondent, despot, drab, drool, drip, domineering, desperate, domino effect, Darth Vader, dead, dickhead, door jammer....
Hey, i'm really on to something here! All these words can easily be related to something bad. After being really creative and excitable whilst coming up with A, B, and C, our forefathers must've agreed that the next letter should be some what of a downer. A letter best used to indicate matters of darkness, destruction, and despair. Even in school when papers were graded a C grade wasn't too bad, but a D earned you a reputation of being a bit of a dullard.
On the flipside though, even as it fairs badly on its own, when doubled, a 'D' then implies something rather good. Even every 'D' has its day.
